The people you normally consult with have an interest in the outcome. 

They stand to gain or lose something based on your decision.

The issue concerns someone in your circle. You don’t want to taint the group’s opinion of you or the other person based on this situation, nor do you want the group to know your business.

You feel like the problem should be self-explanatory and you should not be having to initiate this conversation in the first place.

Boundaries have been broken or are about to be.

You are not sure how to approach a sensitive topic with the other person.

You don’t want other people to know you are having this problem.

You have exhausted your own thinking on it.

You need new eyes on the problem, to see it differently.

The people around you are exhausted by your problem and don’t want to hear it anymore.

You don’t want people you normally talk things over with to know about this issue.

You resent having to say something and get irritated thinking about it.
